Troy,

That's Gary's own 1/12 KY F40, I have nothing to do with his disassemble, I just saw his post the other day, and I thought you might be interested.

Just so I understand you are taking apart a Kyosho 1:12 F40 DIECAST car for ADMIN. Got that. I also took apart 2 yellow Kyosho 1:12 DIECAST F40's.
I do have 2 red ( one built by someone esle and another not yet built ) Fujimi 1:12 DIECAST F40's also.

Yes I figured out the safest and best way to break free those parts Kyoshgo glued together and to dismantle the diecast 1:12 completely . Thus when you re-glue them you can't tell they were ever taken apart. The rear window was my only bad learning experience, with one of my KY 1:12 F40's.

I learned from my 1st dismantle that I could remove the COMPLETE engine, with all it others attachments from the rest of the car with out dismantling the rest of the car.

PS: in many cases like those 3 blk tube braces etc , it's best to use the tinyest jewelers flat head screw driver about 1/32 wide. Then sharpen it down to a shaper edge and tiny tiny dollar store hammer use it like a hammer and chisel versus a xo-knife which has too much blade if you slip with it. Another great tool is when you buy some kit 1/64 or 1/24 diecast they give you a shorty philips screw drivers only about 1-1/2 long .

When I can figute out how to get you guys photo's , I will show you my special found tools. Also better to pry chassis off with a flat plastic type tool versud flat metal screw driver.

I have plans to customize a few of my extra 1:12's. Just lending help if needed and exchange info etc Going to make one of my regular yellow F40's into a complete lightweight and same with a blk F40. But Do you think kyosho will some day release a blk lightweight 1:12 F40 like they did with the 1:18 ??

Still wounder if the fujimi glass from the diecast or fujimi or revell 1:12 plastic models will work. I have been meaning to just test fit the glass from my un-built fujimi 1:12 diecast F40's. Will do that this weekend.

Hello Troy, thanks for your comments and experience talk, it's very helpful. My kit is a KY F40, Fujimi one is 1:16 and it's not my major collection scale. KY have a lot parts glue with super glue and need to break careful, otherwise will damage the parts.

I will post more pics on my progress.

Why did you want yours apart ?? With me I stupidily changed my strategy of how I was trying to improve the finish on one of the 2 yellow F40's I was working with, thus that strategy change caused me to smash the rear glass.

Should have stay with my first plan it was working. Lost my concentration I guess.PS: did gary want any tips as to removing more parts etc. I have mine completely stripped down.Engine completely out of the chassis.

Odd I did nt have to remove that tower to tower shock brace as Gary did in the photo. Whole engine can come out from chassis with it engine framed craddle. and those 2 rear oil coolers too. Can I post photo's here. or send to you?? what's your email.
