FYI, there are many testing results about IOPS intensive applications with EQL box around the net.

For me, I am more interested to know the new Dells Fluid Data capability in firmware v5.1, can we really mix different generations of EQL boxes, different spindles and RAID types now in the same storage pool? or is the old recommendation still apply?

Somewhat as a voice in the wilderness. Any chance you would be willing to share test cases demonstrate the performance you are seeing ?

Have you had much success with identifying what the performance bottleneck is with mission/business critical applications that use EQL ?

Btw, I am interested to know if you have installed EQL MEM Plugin on R710 ESX host as well? It's because you are using the lastest FW 5.1.1 H2 and are you also running vSphere 5.0?

Btw, we were able to get the price down to 1/3 of the list, did you able to get any thing even better? If so, I could save some $$$ and buy those XVS SSD versions.

No, Ha Ha. Usually I will contact the a/c manager in Xiamen for purchase. For Equallogic, he pass the case to Dell HK Andrew & Alan

Really? The guy said Dell selling so many equallogic recently.

He said he just complete a migration for a local property agent (中原, 美聯??), from many PE2850 servers to four R910 + Equallogic SAN) this week.

May be we can see together on Dell Equallogic workshop, at Xiammen in future.

Yup, always stay away from the latest firmware as a rule of thumb.

Btw, are you from Hong Kong too? There aren't many using EQL in Hong Kong. :)
