您也许知道,在许多年以前,CMC推出了1:18货号为M-044的奔驰流线型赛车的精美车模。该款模型是按照梅赛德斯-奔驰博物馆的展示车辆复制的,而该款原型赛车的研制则可追溯到1955年。

到目前为止,M-044已经售罄了很长一段时间,尽管如此,这款优美的赛车模型还在不断地被收藏者问起。由于持续的市场需求,CMC决定重新生产这款车。本次除了少量1955年版再生产以外,我们将重点集中在新版的流线型赛车模型。根据众多的收藏家们建议,我们决定追加投资,增添新模具,力求向您展现您不曾拥有的1954年版新流线型精品车模。1954年版与1955年版有诸多不同。事实上,我们选择的1954年版流线型在奔驰流线型赛车史上,曾赢得过更出色的辉煌。正如1954年7月4日在法国兰斯举行的汽车大奖赛上看到的那款流线型赛车。

你会很快注意到1954年流线型外观与1955年版本之间存在的明显差异。其中最重要的特点如下:

1.为驾驶舱的通风而在挡风玻璃前部设置了进气口,即开放型的“栅格结构”;
2. 改变了通风口,以便改善车身尾部的散热(内部鼓式制动器);
3. 改变了外后视镜形状;
4. 改变了头颈枕垫部位油箱盖的设置;
5. 取消了整个靠背中的小头枕部份;
6. 在方向盘左侧附加一个油温计;
7. 取消了可移动冷却器进气格栅以及驾驶舱内的控制杆;
8. 重新采用固定式冷却器进气格栅(新);
9. 采用表面平滑,不带空气进气口的引擎盖;
10.为方便加注机油,采用新的机油加注口,并在引擎盖上的相应位置增加了一个辅助圆孔;
11. 引擎盖两侧的车身修正为对称设计;
12. 更改了引擎进气歧管的形状;
13. 更改了引擎进气口的形状;
14. 重新设计了冷却液循环系统及加注机构;
15. 两个排气管的布局修正为上下分列,在两侧上排气孔的中间各增设一个镀铬的隔板;
16. 在引擎舱的左侧两个排气孔上各增加一个镀铬的隔板;


Differences that Distinguish M-128 A/B/C (Limited Editions GP France 1954) from M-044

  • Air inlet in front of the wind shield that is fitted with five blade fins for cockpit ventilation
  • Rear-view mirror consoles that are shaped differently
  • Two rear openings that serve as air outlets, each with a stainless steel funnel and double crossbars
  • Shorter fuel inlet housed in the head rest
  • New-generation wheels with spokes and nipples
  • Tampon printed with starting numbers 18, 20, and 22 respectively
  • An engine hood that features a flattened surface and an absence of any air-intake opening. In the case of No. 22 car, there is a bulge in the right area of its engine hood.
  • Altered body shape to fit in with the modified bonnet
  • Modified air intake system, which involves changes in the engine, air-intake manifold, and air-inlet duct
  • Modified coolant expansion tank with separate coolant feed piping
  • Round opening in the bonnet for accessing the filler inlet of the oil tank (left vehicle side)
  • Addition of a filler inlet and tube connection to the oil tank
  • Recessed radiator grille that is immobile
  • Elimination of the mobile radiator grille and its adjustment lever in the cockpit
  • The engine service opening on the right vehicle side is covered
  • Different arrangement of the two exhaust pipes, each going through a lateral body opening on the right vehicle side all by itself. The upper opening is also mounted with a chromed crossbar.
  • Two lateral body openings on the left vehicle side, each with a chromed crossbar
  • Modified aeration-cooling outlets on the rear fenders
  • Red Mercedes Star printed above the radiator grille
  • Different fabric covers for the driver seats (#18 brown/red, #20 green, #22 blue) with different leather trimmings
  • Elimination of the headrest extension of the seat back
  • 4-spoked steering wheel, with spokes painted to match the basic seat color
  • Additional oil temperature gauge installed below the dashboard

银箭又回来了!

是的,我们正在谈论的梅赛德斯-奔驰大奖赛赛车W196R。他们的首次亮相是在1954年7月4日于法国兰斯赛道举行的法国大奖赛。

梅赛德斯-奔驰车队的阵容包括三辆赛车,分别由三位车手驾驶:胡安。曼纽尔·方吉奥,卡尔·克林以及汉斯·赫尔曼。

汉斯·赫尔曼非常年轻,早在他作为保时捷赛车手的时期,他对赛车非凡的驱驾天赋已经显露无遗。

奔驰流线型赛车优雅的车身造型绝对可称作一场视觉盛宴。它完全颠覆了传统赛车的设计理念,人们从来没有见过这样的赛车,由此引起了赛道边将近30万观众的轰动。

这场车赛总共要跑61圈,相当于506公里,车赛开始时奔驰车队被寄予了很高的期望。

方吉奥驾驶的赛车起始号为18,克林驾驶的赛车起始号为20,他们与驾驶玛莎拉蒂250F赛车的阿斯卡里一起处在前排。比赛开始后,他们立即冲到前面的领先位置。不过阿斯卡里还没跑完第一圈就因故障退赛。此时,紧随其后的是两位法拉利车手:冈萨雷斯和霍桑。

汉斯·赫尔曼驾驶的赛车起始号为22,从第3排的第五位起步。他不满意自己的位置,疯狂地加速往前追赶。经过7圈他已经超越了霍桑,仅仅跑到第11圈,又把冈萨雷斯甩到了后面。同时,他还创下了不可思议的最快单圈记录:2分39.9秒和195.436公里/小时的平均速度。此时,三辆W196R完全占据第1、2、3的领跑位置,但是到了第17圈,22号赛车的发动机突然失去动力,很遗憾由于发动机故障,汉斯·赫尔曼不得不退出比赛。后来推测,也许他在操纵发动机时有点生硬,或者,也有可能是准备期间过于仓促,没有对发动机做充分的调试。

当比赛进行到最后,波澜再起,方吉奥和克林为争夺冠军各不相让,相互之间发生了戏剧性的激烈争斗。最终,方吉奥仅仅以车身超前克林不到1米的微弱优势赢得法国大奖赛冠军。方吉奥的平均速度达到了186.15公里/小时。

在缺席国际赛车舞台整整15年后,梅赛德斯-奔驰车队卷土重来,一出场便毫无悬念地将冠亚军收入囊中。它预示着银箭的第二个黄金时代的开启。到1955年底,奔驰车队在全部13场分站大奖赛中共赢得了10次大奖赛的胜利。

CMC将忠实地以当年梅赛德斯-奔驰车队的这三辆参赛车为蓝本,推出三款限量版1:18模型,每款型号全球限量发行1,000台。我们将以此来纪念这个历史性的著名的车赛盛事。

The series of large format prints combines original digital photography with cutting-edge 3D graphics and a grand degree of artistry to produce images that are absolutely breathtaking.

Each print forms a vignette around a particular event or moment, the Silver Arrows and the machines with which they did battle.

The works were unveiled at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed and you’ll be able to check them out again at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in mid-August, and at the Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart in 2015.

千盼萬盼,肌肉車模型龍頭GMP終於捲土重來了。但是知道這次的生產夥伴是由產品質量不是那麼高端的Greenlight負責後,的確有些失望,但是還是要看到真正車模實物後才能下結論,真的希望會有驚喜。

今天在FB看到一個驚為天人的視頻,一個骨瘦如柴的殘疾人在廣州街頭賣藝,唱的是陳百強的首本名曲”偏偏喜歡你”。說實在的,當時真的有些震撼,因為此君的嗓音仿彿Danny仔再世。

其後細聽之下發現”咪嘴”情況嚴重,深入調查才發現原來背後的原唱者是一個籍籍無名叫鐘明秋的廣東年輕人。

姑且不談”咪嘴”,此君的表演的確能煥發圍觀途人的同情心,哎。。。不過事實也說明了現在很多歌星根本就是表演家,只不過外表比此君出眾得多而已,錄音時每個音都已經用電腦矯正過,現場不一樣也是”咪嘴”。

這種通過形象包裝、大製作堆砌和買通傳媒瘋狂洗腦式的宣傳現象正因為得到了現今普羅大眾的接受而變得更加變本加厲,所以真正的唱家班反而沒人懂得欣賞,也就是說內涵這種東西已經變得過時了,又是一個劣幣驅逐良幣的好例子。

這幾天書局在做特價,無意間找到了這本很便宜而且很有意思的車書,覺得很滿意。

看完後驚訝地發現原來當時很多影星/貴族出現在歐洲的Concours d’Elegance或者康城影展上都是乘坐著地道的豪華美國車,而不是歐洲車。

Mattel終於也失去了法拉利的版權

15年的合作關係終於終止了,而最新的版權卻驚訝地落在了意大利老牌廠商Burago手裡,當然這可不是什麼好事。但是如果Burago的製作技術有明顯進步或者交給京商/BBR代工那又另當別論。

另外根據以前2009年京商(Kyosho)失去法拉利版權的經驗,某些絕版了的Elite/Super Elite如F40, 458 Italia, 250 California, 288 GTO等的市場價格如無意外將會越來越高。

We would like to let you know that after a very successful 15-year partnership, the Mattel Hot Wheels licensing relationship with Ferrari will end on December 31, 2014.

That is the date that Mattel’s current contract with them expires and has been mutually agreed not to renew it.

Here are the next steps:

All the remaining 2014 Ferrari products will be produced and released over the next six months including standout key releases like the 1:18th 1976 Niki Lauda 312 T2 race car as seen in the hit movie RUSH and Ferraris latest super car, the LA FERRARI.

Equallogic Firmware Upgrade Checkup List

I’ve received an alert this morning saying “Time-of-day clock battery charge is low” from my Equallogic array.

Googled a bit and turned out to be a false alarm (this was also double verified with Dell Pro-Support with EQL Diag log), it only happens with older firmware prior to v5.2.10 (and currently I’m still using v5.2.2). The only way to dis-alarm such warning is to upgrade to the latest firmware release (ie, >v5.2.10).

However I do remember there are certain EQL components depend on specific firmware version. Luckily, I’ve found out this chart, it’s really a time-saver and it’s advised to check out this list every time you plan to do a major firmware upgrade.

For me, my MEM is v1.1.0, SANHQ is 2.2.0, EQL Virtual Storage Manager for VMware is v3.1.1, so my best and most safe play is upgrade to EQL firmware v5.2.11 which is the latest. If I upgrade to v6 or v7, then many related components may not work.

Extra Notes:

* Something special for latest MEM v1.2 only supports ESXi v5.0 or above, so for those of you still running ESX/ESXi 4.x, please stay with v.1.1.2.

* Also found out all Release Notes contains tips regarding upgrade path or different versions compatibilities, so better check out this document first.

Finally, saw this Unfortunate Reminder from the latest EQL v7.x firmware Release Notes…so older Equallogic arrays can loaded with the latest firmware IS NO LONGER TRUE, sigh…

In additional, there is a good stuff that finally we can use 4k or 512-byte sectors, so this should save a lot of wasted space in Snapshots.

Update: July 6, 2014

Problem still exists after upgrading to v5.2.11, what the hell? Local Pro-Support at XiaMen remains unprofessional probably even worst than 4 years ago as he asked me “Can you accept Downtime” when restarting the controller? $#%R$#@!@!!!!!

The other thing I found out is the Restart Button in EQL Group Manager GUI is actually a way for active controller to failover, so your volume will still remain on-line just like firmware upgrade controller restarting  process.

Dell L2 support team head called me this morning, he mentioned US EQL support also noticed this specific error remains even with latest firmware v6.x applied, and it will be fixed in a later firmware hopefully.
